2006 Banyan Review Poetry Competition
The online literary journal Banyan Review announces its 2006 poetry competition. First place prize is $100. Two finalists will receive $50 each. The three winning poems will be published in the Banyan Review online edition in Winter 2007 as well as in a print edition best of Banyan Review anthology. Contributors included in the anthology will receive an additonal $25 payment and a contributor's copy.
Final Judge–Lyman Grant
We are pleased to announce that final judging for the 2006 Banyan Review Poetry Competition will be completed by Lyman Grant. Mr. Grant's biography is available here.
Deadline
September 30, 2006 (postmarked). Winners will be notified October 14, 2006.
Guidelines
- Entries limited to 5 poems per poet.
- Poems must not: be previously published; have won a prize; be currently entered in another contest.
- Subject and form are open.
- Line limit of 40 lines.
- Poems must be typed.
- Entrants who send communications directly to the final judge will be disqualified.
Mail entry fee and one copy of each poem with name, address, phone number and email address (optional) and the phrase "Banyan Review Poetry Competition" in the upper right corner to:

Send optional #10 SASE for winners list only. If an email is included then timely notification will be made of decline or publication.
Author should keep a copy of the submission as it will not be returned. Entries that do not meet the guidelines will not be considered or returned.
Entry fee
$10 for up to five poems (check or money order made out to M. Ruiz). Multiple entries are permitted as long as each entry is accompanied by the appropriate entry fee.
