Poetry Makes Us Rich

by Kate Greenstreet

But there's a story where you turn.
One day
you turn over the laundry basket
and, instead of the darks,
or the whites,
little solid gold fishes
spill
onto the old kitchen table.
¡Qué milagro!
Don't go looking for the missing laundry,
those worn favorites.
Take your chance when it comes.
These fish will talk.
